Torah From the Warsaw Ghetto - Gathering the Strength to Stand Strong
Download Parshat_Pinchas_3_Weeks_5772_A.mp3
The words of the Piacezner Rebbe come to us from the ruins of the Warsaw Ghetto. Buried in metallic milk cans that survived the destruction, the shabbat drashot of Rabbi Kalonymous Kalman Shapira, hy'd, were discovered some years after the war. Their themes remain especially appropriate for anyone struggling with issues of faith and hope under challenging circumstances. During the 3 Weeks, his words bear relevance for the entire Jewish People on a national level, as we come to grips with loss on a national level throughout Jewish History.
In his drasha for Parashat Pinchas in 1940, the Piacezner speaks about the negative impact of meditating on personal sorrow if it comes at the expense of faith, and underscores the need for connecting to those with stronger faith in times of trial.
